Recently, the team of Professor TANG Wei from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of SUST has published an academic paper entitled "Performance safety enforcement in strongly connected timed event graphs" in the top international journal "Automatica" in the field of control. Associate Professor HE Zhou is the first author, Professor TANG Wei is the third author, and Shaanxi University of Science and Technology is the first unit of the paper. This is the first time that our university has published a paper in this journal.
Discrete event systems are the dynamic systems driven by asynchronous and sudden events, such as cyber-physical systems, intelligent manufacturing systems, and transportation systems. Due to the insecurity in network communication, attackers can damage sensors, tamper with and inject false sensor signals which cause controller of the system operating on malicious data, thus reduce system performance, and even cause major disasters. This paper studies the security protection of discrete event system performance when considering network attacks. Using game thinking, the optimal system protection strategy under network attacks is obtained to ensure that the system performance is not lower than the preset threshold under attack. In the existing literature, the research is usually based on the logic level of system protection (such as information opacity, system non-blocking, etc.), and this paper studies the protection of system performance indicators. Combining Petri net theory and game theory, the team studies the optimal behavior of both offense and defense, and converts the system performance security protection problem into an integer linear optimization problem to propose a protection strategy with the least cost.
Furthermore, considering the randomness of events in the discrete event system and network-enhanced attacks, the team has proposed a protection strategy with the least cost. The relevant results are published in the journal "Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems" with the title "Performance safety enforcement in stochastic event graphs against boost and slow attacks" (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.nahs.2021.101057).
